Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you shop, commission, or subscribe here.
the call of colors is a sole proprietorship run by Laura Riondet, based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. All originals, prints, and commissions listed on this site are sold directly by the studio.
Buying a piece here means it's yours to keep, hang, gift, or resell — the physical artwork is entirely yours. Reproduction rights (prints, merchandise, publishing, etc.) stay with me as the artist unless we agree otherwise in writing. This applies to commissions too: you own the finished piece, I retain the right to reproduce and display it (including in my portfolio and on Instagram @thecallofcolors) unless we've agreed otherwise.
Commissions are booked with a non-refundable deposit once a quote is approved — this covers the time spent planning and sketching. You can cancel any time before I begin painting for a full refund of the remaining balance (deposit excluded). Once painting has started, the commission is non-refundable, since it's made to order specifically for you.
All payments are processed securely through Stripe — this site never sees or stores your card details. Prices are shown in CAD by default, with other currencies available for reference only; your card is charged in CAD unless the checkout explicitly says otherwise.
Everything ships by hand from Vancouver, BC. International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or fees charged by your country on delivery — these are the buyer's responsibility and aren't included in the checkout price. It's your responsibility to check whether shipping fine art to your country is restricted before ordering.
Paintings and prints are sold as-is, described and photographed as accurately as I can manage — gouache colors can render slightly differently across screens. Beyond the refund and replacement terms on the Refunds & Returns page, the studio's liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order.
