At Abacus Brands I design and build immersive educational experiences for mixed reality platforms — content that lives at the intersection of physical and digital, aimed at making learning feel tangible and playful.

The work spans the full production cycle: concept, 3D modelling and rigging in Blender, optimisation for real-time delivery, and integration in Unity with ARKit and AR Foundation. Keeping assets lightweight without losing visual quality is the central challenge — mobile AR budgets are unforgiving.

Educational design constraints push the work in interesting directions: interactions need to be intuitive enough for a child to pick up in under 30 seconds, engaging enough to sustain attention, and meaningful enough to leave something behind. That balance is harder to hit than it sounds — and more satisfying when you do.
